Nook & Burrow Book Club - February 2019

Nook & Burrow Book Club - February 2019

Welcome to the Nook & Burrow Book Club!

At Nook & Burrow, we're passionate about building community and forming connection through books and reading. That's why we formed this book club and we hope you are excited to join us.

As this is one of our first ever Nook & Burrow Book Clubs, we want to give you all the details. Here they are.

What book are we all reading?

We have chosen John Lanchester's brand-new dystopian book The Wall, as the book we'll read during the month of February.

John Lanchester is a contributing editor to the London Review of Books and a regular contributor to the New Yorker. He has written four novels, The Debt to Pleasure, Mr Phillips, Fragrant Harbour and Capital, and three works of non-fiction: Family Romance, a memoir; and Whoops!: Why everyone owes everyone and no one can pay, about the global financial crisis and How to Speak Money, a primer in popular economics. His books have won the Hawthornden Prize, the Whitbread First Novel Prize, E.M Forster Award, and the Premi Llibreter, been longlisted for the Booker Prize, and been translated into twenty-five languages.

You can read more about the book here.

Where can I get my hands on the book?

Funny you should ask, we've created the perfect accompaniment for this book club: The Nook & Burrow Book Club Box! Inside the book box, you will find:

When does the book club take place?

Here's a quick timeline of events:

24 January: Nook & Burrow Book Club Box is available for pre-order

5 February: Book Club Boxes are dispatched from our studio in Melbourne to our book clubbers and it's the official start of the book club reading (but you can start as early or late as you like, really)

28 February: Live and interactive Facebook book club discussion

Do I have to buy the box to be part of the book club?

No! Anyone and everyone is welcome to take part in this month-long read-a-long. However, the Nook & Burrow Book Club Box is a great way to get your hands on the book and some extra limited-edition bookish items!

Where will we discuss the book club?

Join our Facebook group to stay up to date with us and your fellow book club members. We'll be checking in throughout Febryary and we're keen for all participants to share their reading journey with the Facebook group.

This is where we'll come together on 28th February to discuss our thoughts on The Wall. Also, feel free to share your reading journey on Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag #nookandburrowbookclub
